McDougal on the Move!

After initially announcing that Jason McDougal would be coming down under earlier this month, we are proud now to confirm that Passports and other things have been sorted and he will officially be heading down under very shortly to drive the potent Travis White Racing #38 machine.

McDougal, hailing from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and recently moving to Indiana, has never been to Australia and is excited to be making his debut at the Perth Motorplex on Saturday the 8th of December for the $40,000, 40 lap, 2nd Annual John Day Speedcar Classic,

A relatively new name on the racing scene, team owner Travis White is excited about their prospects moving forward.

“Although he’s been low key up until this season, he has certainly shown some awesome form when it matters and we are very excited to have him driving for us!” said White.

This season alone Jason has had a standout time, winning his first career USAC Nation Sprincar race in September at I-55 Raceway, taking out the prestigious Don Basile Rookie of the Race Award at the Turkey Night Grant Prix at Ventura Raceway (where he started seventeenth after grabbing a transfer spot then finished eighth) and also having an outstanding qualifying night run at the Chilli Bowl Nationals, transferring through a number of consolation races to start the preliminary feature and move forward through the field.

Jason will race the Gateway Dirt Nationals this weekend before boarding a plane on Sunday to arrive in Perth on Tuesday which will give him time to look over the car.

“He will be racing the USA#38 Spike Esslinger machine that Justin Grant was dominant in until an unfortunate crash that took him out of the feature race last time out” says Travis. “We know the car is good and it shouldn’t take Jason long to settle into the seat and get some results.”

Travis will step out of the seat for the event and take on the self-titled Chief Spaniard role, generally known as the Crew Chief role, doing what he can to learn anything that will help him go even faster when he steps back into the driving role.

“It’s not always a role that people find easy working on the car’ laughs Travis, “but an experience that I really enjoy!”

Make sure you get your backside trackside to welcome Jason to Australia and cheer him on in the Generals race on Saturday the 8th of December at the Perth Motorplex!
