A VERY MERRY SPEEDWAY!

The festive season will be over before we know it, but one way to ensure it continues is by attending the Perth Motorplex annual Boxing Day Bonanza event!

This Boxing Day, Wednesday the 26th of December, will see the Speedcars return to the track for the first time since the amazing John Day Speedcar Classic a few weeks ago.

Ten drivers have nominated for the event and despite the lower numbers, the quality of cars is huge!

The only driver in the field this Wednesday to have won a feature so far this season is Dayne Kingshott, who put in an impressive performance in the last show. Unfortunately mechanical issues put paid to his chances of claiming another win, but the team has been working hard and are real contenders for the victory this time out.

Travis White will return to the seat of what has proven to be a very potent package, with American Jason Mcdougal driving it to victory in the John Day Speedcar Classic. Travis has been on the podium twice already this season and with the confidence of the last show, could very well breakthrough for a feature win.

Glen Mears is the only other driver to have been on the podium twice this season, and currently leads the Perth Motorplex Track Championship because of this consistency. Now that the likeable Mears has got laps under his belt and proved the reliability of his package, he is now determined to be fighting for the feature win!

Rob Golding is second in the Track Championship and has been getting quicker each time he hits the track. Now with a beautiful new wrap on his car, he will be keen to get the results under his belt, while brother Dan Golding too has been improving and last time out put in a career best performance to get fourth place in the John Day Speedcar Classic. The first local home, Dan put in an outstanding effort at the last show and will be keen to do more of the same this weekend.

Others in the field on Boxing Day include Beau Doyle who has been impressing many with his smooth driving skills and ability to adapt to the beasts that are Speedcars, while Stuart Yates and Gary Mann have both had just one run this year and were doing well until being forced infield.

They will be joined by Vaughan Manders who has been working hard to get the Wayne Cover #9 machine on song, as well as Phil Jeffrey in what will be his first run of the season.

Drivers will compete in a heat and an Indian File event prior to the all-important feature race. Action kicks off from about 4.30pm with preliminary events, with Speedcars slated to hit the track just after 6pm!
